the entire weekend revolved around the number "three-3".
The Friday earlier to the weekend had to wait for 3hrs in vain for a friend of mine and getting to know that its not possible to meet in a sms chat for 3mins ,after that at home had to wrestle with PC to get it started it also took about 3hrs to get it done, then the next day......probably the most difficult TO STUDY PE for 3hrs(that too i didn't do sincerely). Then getting a call from (computer allergic) friend who had to struggle to get her gmail a/c restored that too after long and arduous 3hrs. Its always a three word(sumtyms 3 alphabet in 2day's sms lingo) which mends a heart or breaks one.Thinking much further a today's nuclear family consists of 3 individuals.
Talking about electronics, generally a semiconductor device is 3 terminal(BJT, etc), we generally use 33k pot or resistances(its a crap joke so ignore) and many a thnigs which i could have thought but quite late now so some quick facts about 3
It might feel while reading that i'm exagerating the no.3 but after reading few things about it on wiki:
- Counting to three is common in situations where a group of people wish to perform an action in sync: Now, on the count of three, everybody pull! Assuming the counter is proceeding at a uniform rate, the first two counts are necessary to establish the rate, but then everyone can predict when three" will come based on "one" and "two"; this is likely why three is used instead of some other number.
- In Vietnam, there is a superstition that considers it bad luck to take a photo with three people in it; it is professed that the person in the middle will die soon.
- There is another superstition that it is unlucky to take a third light, that is, to be the third person to light a cigarette from the same match or lighter. This superstition is sometimes asserted to have originated among soldiers in the trenches of the First World War when a sniper might see the first light, take aim on the second and fire on the third.(NOTE: This is specially to all SN regulars :) ) )
- The phrase "Third time's the charm" refers to the superstition that after two failures in any endeavor, a third attempt is more likely to succeed. This is also sometimes seen in reverse, as in "third man [to do something, presumably forbidden] gets caught".
- Luck, especially bad luck, is often said to "come in threes".
